Types of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machinery which enables workers to carry out tasks without having to build a scaffolding. They are used to do maintenance work, to work on elevated structures and are common equipment found in factory and warehouse settings as well.

Boom lifts will usually offer powered and wheeled bases that can drive itself to the work place and have a platform on them to elevate the workers. There are many various kinds of lifts and every one is suitable to various tasks and settings.

Bucket Trucks
Bucket trucks, that are usually known as "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom that has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where a worker may stand. Normally, bucket trucks are used by utility workers and by landscapers. Landscapers usually utilize these machinery to cut trees.

Bucket trucks are equipped with a boom assembly that is mounted on a standard truck, and this means these lifts can travel on roads at normal traffic speeds. This mobility really increases the area they could efficiently service. This is particularly vital for power companies. Like for instance, many of these businesses use cherry pickers to raise employees up so they can work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets should be regularly checked and insulated well since they are working near potential shock hazards.

Articulated boom lifts are also referred to as "knuckle lifts", and consist of a work platform which is mounted on an arm that is able to bend so as to reach around obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and could turn the lift in a complete circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.

Typically, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also handy for maintenance work on projects that are already completed. Projects that do not require easy access right beneath the jobsite. These lifts could be utilized to repair piping or exterior electrical work, and areas that are difficult to clean. Normally knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the extended boom.
