The kind of vehicle usually found within factories, warehouses and various work sites where moving heavy materials from one location to another is required is referred to as a forklift. The mast is the mechanism located on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lifts and lowers the load. The "cat" is the protected area where the driver of the forklift sits.
Forklifts are capable of lifting loads between one and five tons in weight. Some types can be used to raise shipping containers and much heavier loads.
Forklift tires must be maintained and checked on a regular basis. The kinds of tires on various forklifts vary based on factors like load weights, ground surfaces and frequency of use. Every driver of a forklift must have access to replacement tires, a forklift jack and tire press.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
Perform tire inspections on a regular basis. Watch for indications of wear and damage to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40%, it should be replaced.
When buying tires, make sure that you are buying the correct type - solid, pneumatic or polyurethane.
When the tire needs replacing, position the forklift jack under the tire and raise the forklift high enough that you could change the tires easily.
You can utilize the tire press to pull the tire from the rim and remove the damaged tire. Install the new tire and secure it well. If you are changing more than one tire and you have just one jack, lower the forklift, and afterward reposition the jack at the next tire.
A repair company can provide on-site tire repair. If the tire is extremely big for both mobile and in-house tire presses, the damaged tire must be transported to a shop which has a stationary tire press.
