Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential device within commercial businesses and industry since 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through various kinds, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to meet particular functions.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of rubber or solid polyurethane and is best for indoor applications on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated for different load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are commonly used within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with air or foam. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the application, they are offered with various tread depths, weight and sidewall protection. Pneumatic forklift tires that are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are commonly used outdoors on surfaces which are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires offer together with the puncture resistance which solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are a good option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, that can either be pneumatic, foam or solid, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are suitable for loading and moving bulk items into processing machines or onto trucks. Big flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts normally utilized at construction locations, automobile recyclers and lumberyards.
