Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machinery while they pick up and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the right answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machinery in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
