How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great convenience when utilizing a scissor lift, as the convenience of working and the lift basket's security provides peace of mind when trying to carry out tasks that could have otherwise needed using the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this specific equipment make it the right choice for carrying jobs from heights.
The majority of scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted inside the base of the lift. These batteries have to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is an easy job to charge the batteries. This can be done without any particular tools or equipment and needs no heavy labor.
In order to prepare the scissor lift for charging, position the machine near an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button found near the charger or the control box, in the basket of the lift. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Often, models that are older would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
After that, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be sure you are charging in a place which is well ventilated and after that plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger can potentially happen.
