Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to lift the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular lift trucks aren't able to move the load away from and towards the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly utilized in agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater lift and control is needed.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift will often utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is meant to hoist personnel is referred to as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is utilized to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
