The Carriage
Like standard lift trucks, the lifting attachment could be tilted from its horizontal position to backwards and forwards. The actual possible amount of tilt completely exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There is a huge variety of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several units have rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Knowing the load capacity of a telehandler is a a lot different exercise than it is on a vertical mast model. The capacity of the model is completely dependent on such things as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers. Additionally, which lifting attachment plays a very main part, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator much more information to take into account.
Telehandlers will often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they can use to know a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the model in particular, the load capacity may vary by thousands of pounds all together.
